Judge Matt Hayes, Justice of the Peace Precinct 7
Matt Hayes has been serving since January, 2011. Precinct 7 is the southeast corner of TarrantCounty and includes south Arlington, Dalworthington Gardens,
Grand Prairie, Kennedale,Mansfield and Rendon.
As a new JP, Matt has already reduced the operating budget, streamlined the office operations, eliminated the case backlog and increased collections. In the courtroom, he has brought fair and consistent rulings for all and a renewed respect for the law.
Matt earned an MBA in Management (with High Honors) from Oklahoma City University, a BBA in Finance (Cum Laude) from the University of Houston and two Associate Degrees (Science and Art) from San Jacinto College.
Prior to his election, Matt and Brenda, his wife, have built and grown a successful business serving schools and industry across North Texas while creating jobs. Matt also has over a decade of experience in manufacturing management with domestic and foreign companies. Before that, he served 10 years in the US Marines, leaving as a Captain.
Matt has served the Republican Party in many ways from the ocal grassroots to the state level. Among the myriad of positions he has been: Precinct Chair, Area Leader, State Republican Executive Committeeman, Sergeant-At-Arms for the Texas Straw Poll, Chairman of the SREC’s Candidate Resource Committee, SD Convention Vice Chair, Election Judge, fundraiser, phone banker, door knocker, sign maker and planter, and just about every grassroots job available.
Matt and Brenda were married in 1978. They have three grown children and one finishing high school.
