Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to step down July 26th
In a stunning announcement today, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin announced she plans to step down on July 26th. Her term would have ended in 2010.
It is not clear yet what her plans for the future are, but her website http://www.gov.state.ak.us/exec-column.php quotes General Douglas McArthur, “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
Her supporters are hopeful that this signals a launch of a 2012 campaign for President.
On Twitter she promises her followers “We’ll soon attach info on decision to not seek re-election… this is in Alaska’s best interest, my family’s happy… it is good, stay tuned”
