STEPHANIE KLICK, TARRANT COUNTY GOP CHAIR DECLARES CANDIDACY FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE
GOP Party Chair, Businesswoman, Grandmother, 30-year Tarrant County Conservative Activist Seeks Opportunity to Serve Tarrant County Citizens in Austin
(Ft. Worth) – Tarrant County Republican Party Chair Stephanie Klick today announced her candidacy for State Representative in HD 101, a newly-drawn district which includes the cities of Azle, Blue Mound, Ft. Worth, Haltom City, Haslet, Keller, Pelican Bay, and Saginaw. The district has no incumbent.
Klick said, “For more than thirty years, I’ve worked in the trenches on behalf of the conservative cause as an activist, volunteer, spokesperson, and now party chair. I have the time, experience, and preparation needed to defend our values and principles in Austin. From day one, I can hit the ground running and be effective for Tarrant County families in the district.”
A lifelong Republican with a proven record of fighting for conservative principles, Mrs. Klick was elected Chairman of the Tarrant County Republican Party September in 2005, after having served as Vice Chair for over five years. During that time Tarrant County, has become one of the most Republican counties in the country.
Stephanie is a native Texan with strong ties across HD 101 and Tarrant County, having lived in the Ft. Worth portion of the district for over a decade. Prior to that, she and husband Don raised their family in the Azle area, where Stephanie served as a Precinct Chair for twelve years.
Klick is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, having worked her way through college. A business consultant, she has worked as case manager coordinating the care of the catastrophically injured, as a compliance consultant for long term care facilities for the developmentally disabled, and as a consultant for a law firm that specializes in medical malpractice defense cases.
“One of the most pressing issues facing Texas is the exploding cost of providing health care funding and the impact on taxpayers, small businesses, and job creation. My experience in the health care arena has given me a unique perspective on the disastrous effects of ObamaCare, and why it must be stopped. Additionally, I will support all efforts to end incentives such as free health care and education subsidies for those here illegally.”
“Some will maintain that Texas has cut spending to the bone, but I respectfully disagree. I believe that Texas taxpayers are still paying for excessive waste in Medicaid and other health care programs.”
Stephanie has four grown children: a daughter and three sons. She and her husband Don have been married 32 years and are proud grandparents of four grandchildren. Don is a real estate broker and owns and operates a real estate investment firm.
Over the years Stephanie has taught hundreds of Tarrant County citizens how to participate in the political process. In addition to assisting numerous conservative candidates, she has served as a volunteer with Texas Right to Life.

Cornyn Amendment to End ‘Fast and Furious’ Passes with Unanimous, Bipartisan Support
Cornyn Amendment to end “fast and Furious” passes
WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and former state Attorney General, today issued this statement after his amendment to bar taxpayer funds from being used by the Justice Department to conduct gun-walking programs similar to “Fast and Furious” passed with unanimous, bipartisan support in the Senate:
“Today’s bipartisan effort is just the first step towards ensuring that such a foolish operation can never be repeated by our own law enforcement. The onus is now on Attorney General Holder to hear not just today’s bipartisan call for answers, but the American people’s demands that Washington be held accountable.”
Sen. Cornyn has previously sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder demanding answers following other press reports of alleged Texas-based gun-walking programs similar to the “Fast and Furious” operation currently being investigated by Congressional lawmakers.
Below is the full text of Sen. Cornyn’s amendment:
No funds made available under this Act shall be used to allow the knowing transfer of firearms to agents of drug cartels where law enforcement personnel of the United States do not continuously monitor or control such firearms at all times.
