Tarrant County Republican’s are saddened by the passing of Bev Walsh, who died on Sunday April 3rd,2011 in Henderson, Nevada. Bev had retired a few months ago and moved to Nevada. When she left Texas, she was eager to help transform that state into a Republican state.
Bev was a successful Real Estate Professional and business woman in Tarrant County for many years
Bev was passionate about the issues and the candidates she believed in. She lived life to the fullest, and generously contributed her time a talent to the Tarrant County Republican Party. She volunteered for many candidates’ campaigns and served as the treasurer for TCGOP. As treasurer, she volunteered time each and every week, during the 4 years she held the position.
Bev was faithful in the volunteer commitments she made. Bev also shared her knowledge and skills as a real estate professional and coordinated the re-location of the TCGOP Headquarters in 2000 and 2010. She located the space, negotiated the lease, coordinated the structural modifications to the building and planned the move.
Bev served as the precinct chair for precinct 1380, in Arlington for much of the last decade. She served on the Board of the Tarrant County Republican Assembly and was active in the Reagan Legacy Republican Women, Republican Women of Arlington, and the Arlington Republican Club. She attended many Republican State Conventions as a Delegate.
Bev had a “can do” attitude, a keen wit and an infectious laugh. She made the hard work of a campaign fun. Bev was frequently the first volunteer to arrive, and the last to leave . She embodied the Reagan credo. of ”there being is no limit to what you can accomplish, if you don’t care who gets the credit”. Bev shunned public recognition for her hard work.
Her family was an important part of her life. Bev was proud of her sister Barbara’s recent election as a member of the Texas Legislature and her nephew, Judge John Chupp’s appointment as a judge.
Survivors include: Her Brother Bill Parrish and his wife Carol of Mansfield, her sister State Representative, Barbara Nash of Arlington, nephew Judge John Chupp, of Arlington and a neice Lynne Finley of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Juanita Parrish.
