President Obama continues to ignore the American people and is urging Congress to pass  the unpopular Health Care legislation before March 13th.

The following legislators will be key players in the Healthcare debate.  TCGOP readers are encouraged to call or send a fax to each of the Representatives on this list.

If you call, please ask the person answering his or her name, and use their name during your call. Ask that he/she please add this call as a number to count as AGAINST the Health Care bill.

If they ask if you are in their district – be honest – say, “No, I am an American citizen and this bill is not limited to the constituents in your district.

This bill will effect every hardworking American.” Be courteous, but firm. Make sure they count your call, and last, thank them for accepting your call.

Senate District Convention Pre-registation

 The high-profile Republican race for governor helped draw the most voters to a Texas primary election in 20 years – and perhaps set a record for a GOP primary.

 The Texas secretary of states office said Wednesday that slightly more than 2.1 million, or 16.5 percent of registered voters, cast ballots in the Republican and Democratic primaries. 

 That total was the highest since 1990 and a big increase over the 2006 primaries, when 1.2 million voters and 9 percent of those registered showed up.

Lots of Texans waved political signs for candidates Tuesday.Chris Howe was locked up for it.

In a story that sounds like something from behind the Iron Curtain, Watauga police jailed Howe, 29, for holding a campaign sign on public property.He supported Debra Medina. But it wouldnt matter if he supported Kinky Friedman.

What matters is that an American city has put a man in jail for free speech.Since 2000, Watauga has specifically outlawed political signs on public property. Its part of your typical city ordinance restricting garage-sale signs and other litter.Somehow, police and city attorneys stretched that to arrest Howe for holding a sign.

On its face, the analysis of last nights Texas primary is pretty straightforward: Gov. Rick Perry won big time, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison lost also, big time.

But, here at the Fix we like to go behind the headlines to bring you some of the less obvious winners and losers from the night that was.

WINNERS Perry for President: Perry proved that he, perhaps better than any other Republican politician in the country, understands and connects with the Tea Party movement. In an interview back in May 2009, Perry had this to say about the growing anger on the right: “There is a real movement afoot in our country There is a legitimate tempest that is brewing across this country.”

If you are new to voting in Texas, welcome to the Lone Star State.   In order to vote in Tuesday’s election you must have been registered to vote 30 days prior to  Election Day. 

Texas is an Open Primary State, which means that you can vote in either Party’s Primary Election. It is a crime to vote in both Parties Primary Elections during the same year.

Why you should vote in the Republican Primary on Tuesday In addition to the Governor’s race, there are many contested local races on the ballot.  Many of these races will be decided in Tuesday’s Republican Primary Election.   

While we are all concerned about what is happening in Washington, many of the local races on the ballot will have an  impact on your everyday life.  

If you are concerned about what is occurring in Washington, you should also be concerned about the State Legislative races too.  The winners of the state legislative races will be the ones re-drawing Congressional Districts during the next state legislative session.  If you want a more conservative direction in Washington, D. C., the state legislative races really matter.

Additionally there are many contested judicial races on the ballot. If you find yourself in a courtroom these are the individuals who could be making decisions about your life, your property and the custody of your children.  Before going to vote, take a few moments to study the websites of the judicial candidates.   These races also matter.

Suspicious Absentee Voting Claims Continues

Tarrant voters registered to federal office building | Texas Watchdog

FORT WORTH — Nine people in Tarrant County live communally in a 539,000-square foot cinderblock compound owned by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Drug Enforcement Administration, if their voter registrations are to be believed.

 It is the DEAs presence at Alliance Airport at 2300 Horizon Drive and it is most certainly not a residence.Still, at least three of the nine, who registered to vote in a period between February 2002 and August of last year, cast ballots in 2008 despite the fact that property listings suggest they live in other parts and precincts of Tarrant and, in one case, neighboring Denton County.

They vote in precinct 3417 and can affect the winners and losers in state representative, city council, county commissioner, county constables and a number of other races. Even as they live in another precinct with different ballot choices.

The potential for such registrations to affect elections is substantial.

Just days before Texas Republicans pick their nominee for governor, incumbent Rick Perry has his biggest lead yet.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Republican Primary voters finds Perry leading Senate Kay Bailey Hutchison 48% to 27%, with Tea Party activist Debra Medina earning 16% of the vote. Nine percent 9% of Texas GOP voters remain undecided
