Republican Jeff Cason Enters the Republican Primary for Texas House District 92 (Former Bedford City Councilman with record of fighting taxes)

Tarrant County – Republican Jeff Cason today formally announced to the residents of Texas House District 92 that he is a candidate for the Texas House of Representatives. Cason, a longtime Republican activist, is running for the Texas House to unseat 13 year incumbent Todd Smith and return conservative values to the district.

Cason said “It’s time for a change because Smith does not represent the values of his conservative constituency well and has voted with the liberal Democrats in Austin far too often.”

”I’m a successful businessman and former police officer who share the conservative values of our district. I’m a member of the National Rifle Association, the Northeast Tarrant County Republican Club and the Heritage Alliance.”

Jeff was previously elected to serve on the Bedford City Council. As council member, he fought for conservative principles, pushing for ways to reduce expenditures and hold the line on taxes. Bedford’s property taxes were not increased during his tenure in office.

Jeff is committed to supporting the principles and conservative values of the Texas Republican Party platform. He is for less government and lower taxes with a more diligent oversight of state agencies to identify fraud, waste and abuse.  Jeff supports elimination of the gross margins tax on businesses (a new tax on small business, supported by the incumbent), a cap on property appraised value increases, enactment and immediate implementation of a strict voter photo-identification law and enactment of strict Texas laws to help deal effectively with illegal immigrants.

The election will offer a stark contrast between Todd Smith, a “personal injury trial lawyer”, who authored a bill weakening the sexual predator laws, and Jeff Cason, a businessman and former police officer, with a proven fiscal conservative record.

”As a committed conservative with a record of protecting our families and achieving more efficiency in government, the voters’ choice for district 92 is clear – a law and order conservative vs. a personal injury trial lawyer,” Cason said.

Jeff has lived in District 92 for more than 25 years and works in the aviation and printing industries. He is active in First Baptist Church of Euless. Jeff and his wife, Wendy, a retired HEB ISD school teacher, have five children and seven grandchildren.
